Tennis Calendar for 2008 -2009
Registration for Tennis Lessons is ongoing at Wayside See Calendar for session dates.
Little Grippers is a 1 hour group introduction to tennis for 4 and 5 year olds.
Big Grippers is a 1 hour group lesson for 5 and 6 year olds who are beginner players, who have had little or no experience.
Beginner is a 1½ hour group lesson for players grades 1- 3 that are just beginning tennis or have little tennis experience. This program stresses stroke fundamentals and ball control.
Advanced Beginner I is a 1½ hour group lesson for grades 1-3 & 4-7. Participants should have some previous instruction. The focus of this program is on basics and consistency in serving, as well as volleys and ground strokes.
Advanced Beginner II is a 1½ hour group lesson for grades 1-3 & 4-7. These players are beginning to rally with some consistency and are able to serve while playing a game. The Friday 4:30 6:00 PM match play is included with this program.
Low Intermediate is a 1 ½ hour group lesson for our older students, grades 4 7 & 8 -12, who are just getting started in tennis or have very little experience. This program works at an accelerated pace to get students ready to play the game. The Friday 4:30 6:00 PM match play is included with this program.
Intermediate is a 1 ½ hour group lesson for grades 4-7 & 8-12. Players should be comfortable with basic strokes. The focus is on consistency in all areas during match play. The Friday 4:30 6:00 PM match play is included with this program.
JET I & II The JET (Junior Elite Tennis) program is for our advanced players grades 4 7 & 8-12. JET participants are tournament level players capable of sustaining consistent baseline rallies and can hit serves with accuracy, spin, and pace. Participating in USTA sanctioned tournaments is expected. Program includes the Friday 4:30 6:00 PM match play as well as Saturday match play on selected Saturday afternoons.
High School Instructional This is a High School Team Tennis Tune-up program for all students on their respective High School Tennis Teams and all others who will be trying out for spring tennis
